Shadow
Shadow’s life did not start off well. He was born to Mama Cat just a few months after Mama Cat and her two kittens were dumped by their family in a Highland neighborhood. Shadow’s litter consisted of himself and one other kitten, Chicken Nugget. Mama Cat just didn’t have the resources to care for four kittens, including two newborns, and still didn’t trust us enough to let us help. She tried her best to take care of her babies, but it was winter and the weather was cold and wet. We were eventually able to trap Shadow and bring him in out of the cold. Shadow was adopted by two teachers in Redlands, who were looking for a friend for their other cat, Casper. Shadow was adopted in February 2024 and is doing well. According to his new family, Shadow and Casper “play, wrestle, and chase each other throughout the afternoon and nap near each other when they’ve tired each other out. They even sleep in the same bed nightly!”

Shadow very quickly decided he liked living indoors and spent most of New Year's Day 2024 in Edward's lap

Shadow was pretty healthy when we trapped him and immediately wanted to explore his new environment

As much as he enjoyed playing, his preferred activity was definitely cuddling!
