Veronica Regueiro, Psy.D.
Dr. Regueiro is a licensed clinical psychologist who has loved animals since she was a little girl. She became involved in animal rescue after moving to the Inland Empire in 2016. After struggling for years to find the resources needed to help mitigate the significant issues associated with stray and feral animals in the Inland Empire, she decided to found her own nonprofit. St. Francis’ Safe Haven was founded in 2024, specifically to provide home-based care to animals who would otherwise remain homeless or be euthanized in local shelters.

Edward Banales
Edward grew up in the high desert and has been rescuing animals since he was a little boy. As a child, he would splint the legs of injured animals he would find in the wild but he also grew up with a wide variety of pets, including dogs, fish, chickens, and reptiles of all kinds. Edward is passionate about two things - physical fitness and animal welfare. As a certified personal trainer, he strives to help his clients achieve their health and wellness goals. As co-founder of St. Francis’ Safe Haven, he works to ensure our animals are taken care of and well-loved.
